The Garden Club of America has divided its member clubs into 12 zones. Appointed in each Zone are a Chair, Club Presidents, Chair, Club Committees, and representatives to the national committees of the GCA. This group serves as a connecting link between clubs of their zone and the national organization. They supply information concerning the purposes, projects, and policies of The Garden Club of America. They, in turn, present to the national committees plans, ideas, and problems within their zones.
Zone I meetings are being held in person every other year (odd years) with a small leadership meeting held in the off years. The President and at least one delegate are invited, as well as certain national officers and chair people. The Lenox Garden Club has been the hostess club for four Zone Meetings: Zone II in 1969 and Zone I in 1978, 1997, and 2016.
