The Photography Committee aims to capture the fleeting beauty of nature through photographic images that document the wonders and magic of our natural world. These images will be shared with GCA members through Club, Zone, and GCA exhibitions and digital platforms. Additionally, the committee will document Club activities and encourage and provide photography coaching to interested members.

In July, 2024 the newly formed Photography Committee recognized something important: none of us felt particularly confident with our cameras—especially the ones on our phones. We came from different skill levels, but we shared one goal: to learn together. So we committed to spending the next two years growing as photographers—experimenting, sharing, encouraging one another, and building confidence in a supportive, judgment-free space.
Our ultimate aim? To be ready to mount a full Photography Show at the 2026 Lenox Garden Club Annual Meeting.
On July 10, 2025 we took a big step forward. We created a mock show titled A Shared Journey: Visions and Insights. It was a practice run, designed to help us understand the standards of a GCA photography show—but without the pressure. It wasn’t judged, and the only guests were those closest to us: a spouse, a child, a best friend, or a trusted partner.
The result? It was a phenomenal experience. Yes, we faced challenges, but we faced them together. With no pressure to perform, frustrations faded, and the process became joyful. We weren’t doing it for judges—we were doing it for each other and for our club. And in the end, we had fun. A lot of fun.
